The Meaning and Poetics of Abai Kunanbayev’s Poem Japyraǵy qýarǵan eski úmitpen

Abstract

Abai Kunanbayev devoted his work to calling for the pursuit of moral values, knowledge and science, and understanding and comprehending the quality of language, words and art. Therefore, the poet’s skilful presentation, preserving these ideas without departing from the poetics of the poem, determines the nature of his creative mastery. The recognition, study and differentiation of the poetic aspect of the subtext of the poet’s work are relevant both for contemporary literary studies and for the culture and philosophy of the nation as a whole.

The aim of the study is to reveal the semantic basis and poetic nature of Abay Kunanbayev’s poetry.

The article focuses on a detailed description of the meaning of Abay Kunanbayev’s poem “With old hope, whose leaves are yellow” and an analysis of the poetics of the poem, identifying the characteristics of poetic dimensions and drawing relevant research conclusions.

It involves a creative search carried out by the poet within the framework of the artistic expression of the poem, observation, logical analysis and interpretation of manifestations of inner contemplation, as well as methods of poetic analysis. The poet’s poetry plays an important role as the main material of the study.

While the theoretical information and author’s conclusions taken into account in the article determine the theoretical essence of the work, the model of poetic analysis of a specific poem demonstrates its practical nature.
