Continuity of Literary Artistic Devices in the Works of Dulat and Abai

Abstract

This article examines the features of the use of literary devices and the continuity between the works of prominent figures of Kazakh literature – Dulat Babatayuly and Abai Kunanbayuly. The works of both poets are distinguished by their depth of meaning and high artistic mastery in reflecting the national spirit and the realities of their time. The study analyzes the tropes and figures of speech they employed – epithets, metaphors, similes, hyperboles, rhetorical questions, and irony – identifying their similarities and differences. The article also explores how the traditional artistic techniques characteristic of Dulat’s poetry evolved and acquired new significance in Abai’s work. As a result, the research reveals important aspects of artistic evolution and literary continuity in Kazakh poetry.
