Abstract

This article examines the syntactic system of the epic poem «Kitabi Dede Korkut» from the perspective of a linguacultural approach, which views language as a vehicle of cultural meanings, ethnic memory, and the worldview of a people. The aim of the study is to identify the relationship between syntactic patterns and cultural codes that shape the national worldview of the Oghuz-Azerbaijani ethnic group. The analysis demonstrates that the syntax of the epic performs not only a grammatical but also a cultural-semantic function, reflecting collective consciousness, moral values, and ideals of heroic behavior.

Particular attention is paid to syntactic features such as parallelism, ellipsis, asyndeton, and imperative forms, which originate in oral tradition and are ritualistic in nature. These constructions serve as verbal equivalents of cultural archetypes embodying ideas of honor, family, destiny, and courage. The syntactic organization of the text reveals cognitive and emotional models of ancient thought, in which words are perceived as actions and speech as manifestations of sacred power.

The syntax of «Kitabi Dede Korkud» emerges as a structural model of national consciousness, where the interaction of grammatical forms and cultural meanings creates a stable system of symbols and values. Thus, a linguacultural analysis of the epic allows us to consider its language not only as an object of philological study but also as a reflection of the spiritual world, ethnic identity, and historical memory of the Azerbaijani people.
