Abstract

The figurative expressions, rhetorical phrases, proverbs, and sayings in our language are not only the spiritual wealth of our people but also the rich history, noble traditions, and precious heritage of our culture and literature, passed down from generation to generation. One of the priceless spiritual values of the Kazakh nation is its national language, and within that language, the «jewels of words,» «special layers,» and «figurative formulas» found in phraseological units encapsulate the people’s customs, social conditions, cultural level, and, in short, their entire essence. Thus, proverbs, phraseological expressions, and famous sayings that reflect the fragments of each era contain informational and linguistic data. By studying such linguistic data, which have been solidified and preserved in the collective consciousness, we can delve into the depths of our history and revive the Kazakh national memory and consciousness, rooted in Turkic origins. Therefore, the analysis of linguistic and cultural units that demonstrate mental historical and cultural unity will undoubtedly contribute to the expansion of our cognitive knowledge. This article explores the linguistic and cultural motivation of historical phraseological units that preserve historical, cultural, and linguistic codes. For example, phraseological expressions such as «All words have a single origin, and the source is Maiky bi,» «If you are in trouble, go to Talas,» «The mountain of Qap, the mountain of Qoykap,» and «Akhtaban-shuburindi, Alqakol sulama» are analyzed through the reduction technique while considering historical references.
