In the context of modern educational reforms, academic disciplines are increasingly expected to align with competency-based learning outcomes. Course content must meet specific cognitive, functional, and systemic goals.
This study examines the contributions of Professor R.S. Amir to the course «Syntax of Compound Sentences in Modern Kazakh Language» within the «Kazakh Philology» curriculum. The key idea is to demonstrate that his textbook fully meets contemporary educational standards. The textbook “The System of Compound Sentences in Modern Kazakh Language” (2014) serves as a core resource for developing competencies in theoretical understanding, practical application, and communicative analysis. It helps undergraduate students achieve the intended outcomes at various levels of Bloom’s taxonomy.
The research methodology involves analyzing the textbook content through Bloom’s taxonomy and identifying cognitive, functional, and systemic competencies. It also includes syntactic and communicative interpretation of sentence structures and discourse analysis.
Findings show that the textbook enables:
– comprehensive understanding of structural and semantic types of compound sentences;
– development of analytical and interpretive skills;
– mastery of communicative functions and expressive forms of sentence construction.
The content supports the transition from theoretical knowledge to applied linguistic skills, fostering deep syntactic awareness.
This work illustrates how Professor Amir’s linguistic framework satisfies current pedagogical demands. It can serve as a reference for curriculum development in Kazakh language syntax. The outcomes can be utilized in the creation of course syllabi, educational materials, and in the instruction of Kazakh syntax in higher education settings.
