Abstract

This article examines the language functions of the human brain from the perspectives of neuroscience and neurolinguistics. The aim of the study is to systematise the interrelationships between linguistic competence, memory, learning processes and meaning. The article analyses how the brain processes linguistic information and explores the mechanisms underlying the functioning of neural networks. Linguistic competence is regarded as a complex system encompassing not only grammatical knowledge but also semantic, pragmatic and cognitive skills. Furthermore, the study considers the capabilities and limitations of modern artificial neural networks in natural language processing. Although these models can learn statistical patterns in linguistic data, they differ significantly from human language comprehension and communicative competence. The study highlights the need to integrate biological, cognitive and computational approaches to understanding language abilities. The significance of the research lies in establishing connections between technolingualism and neurolinguistics, thereby contributing to the improvement of language technologies.
