Abstract

Clothing is a significant national value that connects the past, present, and future. In the era of globalization, preserving national identity while transmitting the cultural and ethnic characteristics of the Kazakh people to future generations becomes increasingly important. This study examines contemporary Kazakh national attire and custom-made jewelry as objects of research to determine the extent of their transformation.

The research employs retrospective, synchronic, and diachronic methods to trace the continuity of modern national clothing with historical examples. Additionally, a comparative analysis is conducted to identify similarities, differences, and changes in design.

The findings indicate that the concept of the «Invention of Tradition,» which gained prominence in the 20th century, has played a crucial role in shaping contemporary national attire. The study analyzes ethnocultural garments created within the framework of tradition revival, which have gained recognition and demand in society. Traditional jewelry crafted by artisans, clothing and accessory catalogs, and museum exhibits are examined for comparative analysis. This research highlights the transmission of ethnocultural traditions from the past to the present, substantiates findings with written sources, integrates them into academic discourse, and reconstructs authentic garments in a modernized form.
