This study investigated the importance of mental health awareness in foreign language teaching, exploring how students’ emotional states influence their learning experiences. Using a quantitative survey design, data were collected from a total of 60 university students by means of a 10-item Likert-scale survey that measured anxiety, stress, confidence, and emotional well-being in language classrooms. All responses were valid and therefore included in the analysis. Reliability testing revealed strong internal consistency, thus confirming that the instrument effectively measured a unified construct related to mental health. Descriptive statistics revealed a mean score that was moderately high, therefore indicating that most students agreed mental health significantly influences their motivation, participation, and performance regarding foreign language learning. Overall, the findings emphasize that mental health plays a critical role in shaping learners’ academic outcomes and point to the need for teachers to assume mental health-sensitive practices in order to create supportive and effective learning environments.
